Being an ally can be complicated and messy. Especially if we don’t agree on every issue. But what if we try and connect to others by rooting in our own stories? What if we share our vulnerability and heartache to build a stronger force and connection to each other?

I invite you to think about shifting the phrase “They need us as allies.” to “We need each other.”

“If you have come here to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.”
