2023 - Let Compassion Be our Compass

Friday, May 20 to Sunday, May 22, 2022

Location: Grant Park, Atlanta

Atlanta CompassionCon 2022 will be a Springtime three-day, multi-city event throughout Georgia, centering on the viral nature of compassion when our communities prioritize our common humanity and interdependence. This interactive festival-like conference will uplift the positive impact compassion has on our social and community contexts of health. CompassionCon will develop awareness, education, and action around compassion for self, others, and the earth. The goal is to help people realize that we must care for each other and build communities around a culture of care which supports everyone’s wellbeing. CompassionCon is an opportunity to celebrate our interconnectedness while we build healthier communities together. The festival will include music and art, wellness activities, food trucks, mobile heath care units with blood pressure testing, HIV testing, blood drive, covid vaccines, as well as the distribution of diapers, female sanitary products, oral hygiene products.

We are Rooted In Compassion

CompassionCon 2022

Day 1 - Friday

Compassion for self
  • On your own - We invite you to honor your entire personhood by practicing self-compassion. We will have partner hosted events throughout the city and online. Care for your mind through an awareness meditation. Listen your body through an online yoga class. Walk a local labyrinth to hear your spirit.

Day 2 - Saturday

Compassion for each other
  • With us - We will come together for a fun festival outdoors in the park. There will be theater, partner booths, food trucks, activities for children, story-telling time. This is a time for you to connect with organizations that center compassion in their work and with like-minded people who want more kindness in the world. This is how we build our interconnectedness as a community and amplify the voice of compassion throughout the city.

Day 3 - Sunday

Compassion for the earth
  • On your own - We will show our compassion for the earth by connecting with nature. Our partners will distribute a list of hikes, parks, and nature trails in the area. You can plant a tree, volunteer with an organization, or visit a local park you have not visited before and share your experience with us on social media.

Compassionate Atlanta is a grassroots community-building non-profit which seeks to raise awareness about the benefits of compassionate action throughout the Greater Atlanta area.

We do this by teaching and encouraging people of every persuasion and walk of life to channel their concern for the wellbeing of others into tangible action. The goal is to build healthier, more connected, abundant, and thriving communities.

We advance and shift the local and global culture by centering compassion with everyone we connect with and everything that we do.

CompassionCon will give us the opportunity to experience compassion for self, for each other for the earth.
