Combustion. Fire. Heat. Collapse. If you live in Atlanta, you know what I’m talking about. Yesterday, during rush hour, there was a large fire under our major thoroughfare the I-85. This is one of the main traffic arteries coming in and out of downtown. Tens of thousands travel this road every day. As the fire burned, the highway overpass weakened and eventually collapsed. Miraculously, no one was hurt. So many things come to mind. Gratefulness for the responders, a reminder to tell people you love them, never taking any moment for granted. And… What is burning inside of you? Do you have something that may combust? How do you either fan the flames or put out the fire? Can you be compassionate with yourself around these feelings or can you show compassion to the person or reason that is fueling your fire? I encourage you to watch the short video about how we can take control of the fires burning within us. We can make a choice to feed the fire and let it destroy or to feed compassion and shift the way we see the world inside and out. |
