Field Trip: Friendship Forest Wildlife Sanctuary

Birding Focus: This site is one of Atlanta Audubon’s habitat restoration projects. This walk is free of charge. The park offers a lot of promise as a bird watching and wild space but is a bit overgrown and need of some care.

Directions & Parking: The parking lot for this site is under construction, so we will meet and enter from the back entrance of the park.Parking is available on Clark St. Take exit 3 off of US-78 (Stone Mountain Fwy.) and then turn south on Brocket Rd. Brocket will be a dead end at E. Ponce De Leon Ave. Turn right on E. Ponce De Leon Ave. The park will be on the right after 0.4 mi. Keep driving past the park and turn right on Montreal Rd. Take the second right onto Smith St. Take first left on clark St. Drive to the end of the road and park there. Google these coordinates for a map or program your GPS: 33.813772,-84.240833.
