Have you ever messed up and gone to a meeting on the wrong day? Well, I’m going to admit that it has happened to me more than once 🙂 In fact, it happened today. An important meeting at a fancy restaurant. I went inside and when I didn’t see the usual early arrivers, I knew something was wrong. And then I remembered there was a further discussion after we scheduled this meeting to change it to a later date. Oh well. So, as I got my car from the valet, I asked him if I could go and get him some coffee. The smile on his face made my day. It took me 30 minutes to go to Starbucks and get a pumpkin spice latte and bring it back to him. On my way I noticed fall foliage. It was actually the most joyful 30 minutes of driving 1.4 miles there and back with the pumpkin spice latte for my new stranger friend. It was lovely. I’m so grateful for the little things. Leaves changing color, the ability to buy someone special treat, the smile of a stranger, and just being present.
What are you grateful for? I have a friend on Facebook who writes these posts about what he loves. And he loves everything, here’s a little excerpt:
“Today I love a 99% full, waning crescent shining down on my walk to work. I love that I took a new walking route this morning. I love that all my favorite people work with me today. I love putting caramel in my coffee every now and then. I love freshly washed hair. I love that there’s still stuffing to be eaten at home, but no more pie… I love Im planning to get a little Yule Time tree when I have some extra cash. I love that Im going to write “holiday tree fund” on my tip jar today and see if any magic happens. I love magic. I love last night, chilling on my stoop, I decided to accept/forgive/appreciate where I am socially and not be so hard on myself…I love that thats okay and that I’m still me. I love that I’ve evolved to a kind, gentle, nurturing, sympathetic…figure. I love me and I love you! HAPPY WEEKEND!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼”
Thank you Brian for your your abundance of love. May we all take note.
I look forward to going back to my rescheduled lunch at the same place…with a pumpkin spice latte in hand… just as a fun surprise.
P.S. At our last Meet-Up, our presenter, Rob Johnson, shared 25 Questions written by Chelsea Dinsmore to Help Us Cultivate Attitude by Gratitude.
